INNOVATORS OF COLOUR

WHAT WE DO

SAGES is a start up pioneering phytochemical extractions and biochemical dyeing processes for sustainable colouration. Our breakthrough bio-chemical processes eliminate the need for synthetic dyes entirely

High Performance

SAGES dyes can achieve industry standards on tests such as light fastness and wash fastness

HOW WE DO IT

Easy to Integrate

SAGES dyes are a like-for-like replacement for synthetic dyes and have been successfully integrated into a range of industrial dyeing processes

Versatile

SAGES dyes are soluble making them suitable for diverse applications and have been tested across cellulose and protein fibres

Dye pollution 1.jpg

WHY WE DO IT

Synthetic dyes are responsible for 20% of global wastewater

Derived from carbon intensive petroleum and coal tar, these dyes rely on non-biodegradable chemicals that are toxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic, and highly polluting. Their chemical dye effluent causes contamination, kills marine life, damages soil, and contaminates the food chain and drinking supply.

With new regulations to eliminate hazardous chemicals imminent, rapidly scalable solutions are desperately needed.

SAGES IMPACTS

97% CO2 reduction

When compared to traditional synthetic dyes

energy saving

SAGES dyes are effective at temperatures of 60°C resulting in reductions in energy use

biodegradable and non-toxic

Our dyes and dyeing processes are non-toxic and will biodegrade in water and on textiles preventing environmental damage

circular feedstock

By using food waste as a feedstock we do not rely on

non-renewable commodities

cost efficient

Designed to be an affordable replacement
